Finding Motivation to Lose Weight

Finding motivation to lose weight is no easy feat. More often than not, weight loss seems like an uphill battle which is easier to lose than to win. We have all failed to lose weight in the past with one method or another and so, whenever we finally get the strength to try again, it's difficult to believe that this time it will be different.

But we must try, because our frame of mind has a direct bearing on how well we do on any fat loss plan. If we don't find the motivation we need to lose weight, we run the risk of stopping the process in the middle, of cheating ourselves, and of ending up with little to show for all our efforts.

Here is a mental trick I want you to try which can revolutionize the way you approach any diet or fitness program. I want you to paint a mental picture of the person you'd be once you lost all of the excess pounds you're carrying. I don't mean just the weight or how you'll look, but the person you'd be in all aspects of life: your new confidence, the way people will look at you and see your new strength, your sense of being able to do everything you set your mind to it, and yes, you can also picture how good you'll look in tight jeans.

Then you need to take this mental picture in all its details and see it in front of your eyes each night before you go to sleep and each day when you wake up. By doing so, you'll find it easier to find weight loss motivation and remain focused on your goals. You will also have an easier time on any weight loss plan you choose, and be able to actually enjoy the process as you come ever closer to your mental picture.

John Davenport lost over 30 pounds in his twenties after being overweight most of his life. He now runs a weight loss forum and publishes a diet and fitness newsletter. One of the diets he recommends is this one: Fat Loss 4 Idiots Review
